Challenge
From November 2016 I have been a Yoga Teacher and Reiki practitioner in the South of France. Not being fluent in French I asked for hand-holding assistance to set up my business, but the marketing fell to me. Over several years I had 4 weekly classes as well as several private clients, but sadly due to COVID my business stopped. During this time I studied hard and offered Zoom classes. Due to so many good yoga videos being available freely there was little interest so I became an Emotional Freedom Technique Master (with the Guild of Energists). From this I progressed to Level 1 and 2 EFTi practitioner (Emotional Freedom Technique International). Whilst this is still being worked on (through studying and regular sessions with clients), I have now decided to offer administration services to help other businesses.
Process
From start to finish my creative ideas and implementation of these have been my sole creation and input. Since first arriving in France of which there was only one other Yoga Teacher nearby now there are several studios all within 20kms or so. So I have had to adapt and change my business to suit. Now focusing on private sessions for individuals or small groups on their property.
Solution
The solution was to be open minded. Find similar people in the area that provide similar services - what can you offer that they do not? What can you focus on? Are you competitive price wise? So much to consider. With an open mind and several changes there have been positive steps being made! Namaste.
